Welcome to Melinda Brookshire Photography {The Blog}

What was once my hobby and passion is now my business and I can’t think of a better way to live than by doing what I love.

I like to refer to my style of photography as  “Artistic Photojournalism” - capturing the most authentic personalities of you and your family  in an inspiring location and then turning them into a piece of art to be treasured and displayed.

My own personal photographs are my most treasured material possession; therefore, I go into each portrait session, and lovingly and meticulously edit each photo, assuming that my clients feel the same about their own pictures.

Thank you so much for taking an interest in my work. Please feel free to browse around and see if I am the right photographer for you and/or your event.

Cowboy Up

Since moving out here to western Oklahoma, I have made some great friends…friends I would have never made had I still been living in Atlanta or even Oklahoma City.

One of those friends is Kaci. Where I am city, Kaci is country…she is truly my very own Pioneer Woman and I absolutely adore her. She is the sweetest, most thoughtful person I know and she is a riot to be around.

On top of all that, Kaci loves and is so proud of her family; and rightly so – they are precious! So when Kaci asked me to photograph them all, how could I refuse? The trick was going to be stepping outside my own citified-self and finding the perfect location for this adorable cowboy family. 5x7 doorway for web watermarked
